We offer a comprehensive afterschool program for Marshfield area youth ages 8-18 who are referred to our Youth Net program. Staff collaborate with parents, teachers and health care providers to set individualized goals for each student, which focus on helping them succeed in school, learn social and emotional skills, and live a healthy, active life. Through our program, we aim to improve students’ mental health and give them the tools they need to succeed in school and in life.
Each year, staff meet with teachers, parents and health care providers to develop an individualized plan for each student. We focus on identifying their strengths to encourage growth and areas for improvement and where students may need extra support.
Youth Net staff maintain regular communication with teachers and parents to identify subjects where students may need extra support.
Social and emotional learning
Staff plan activities to help students learn more about themselves and others. Activity topics range from gratitude to gymnastics, diversity to drawing and sharing to science.
Healthy, active living
Students either participate in planned, group physical activities or choose their own activity. Staff offers this time to play as a break before starting homework and once homework is completed.
