Northwoods Coalition

This coalition is a collection of community coalitions dedicated to substance use prevention. It provides support through funding, training and advocacy to the county and tribal nation coalitions in Marshfield Clinic Health System’s service area. Working with the community coalitions, Northwoods Coalition makes a larger collective impact to reduce substance use and create strong, healthier communities.

Formed in 1995, Northwoods Coalition is the largest and oldest coalition dedicated to substance use prevention in Wisconsin. The group is comprised of coalitions from the 35-county service area of Marshfield Clinic Health System and all 11 federally recognized tribal nations in the state. Members work collaboratively and with an advisory board to help shape policies, practices and programs to address public health issues that arise from use of alcohol and other drugs.
