Wisconsin Afterschool Network
Our Center for Community Health Advancement team supports the Wisconsin Afterschool Network through advocacy and professional development for childcare providers. The network’s goal is to ensure all children in our state have the opportunity to attend high quality afterschool and out-of-school programs year-round. These programs provide opportunities and interventions for at-risk youth, a large percentage of those enrolled in afterschool and out-of-school programs.
Mission: Wisconsin Afterschool Network (WAN) is to support schools and community partners in delivering high-quality school-age afterschool programs to diverse children and youth to promote academic success, personal/social development and healthy active living.
Vision: All Wisconsin school-age children and youth have the opportunity to attend a high-quality afterschool or expanded learning program.
• Partnership – Create a sustainable structure of statewide, regional, local and school-community partnerships focused on supporting high-quality afterschool and expanded learning programs.
• Policy – Support the development and growth of statewide policies to secure resources needed to sustain new and existing programs.
• Program Quality – Support statewide systems to ensure programs are of high-quality.
